During the Global Donut Days the Doughnut Coalition Hamburg and the Swiss Donut Economics Network invite you to a webinar in which Doughnut practitioners from across Europe will share their approaches, experiences and insights into developing indicators for ‘Doughnut Data Portraits’ that support transformative change and long-term impact.

Local governments often design sustainability strategies and projects primarily around local priorities and political interests. Aligning these efforts with the broader ambition ofthe global Doughnut – ensuring that everyone can thrive within planetary boundaries – remains a ignificant challenge. Selecting effective indicators is a crucial leverage point in this process.
The focus will be on the three levels of Doughnut indicators from the DEAL Indicator Library:
🔹 Indicators for long-term impacts (Status Snapshot)
🔹 Indicators for policy and implementation (Response Tools)
🔹 Indicators for social behaviour and systems (Activity Monitoring)
Based on their practical experience, our speakers will explore topics such as:
✔️ Desirable versus feasible goals and indicators
✔️ The implications of strong sustainability
✔️ Degrowth-informed doughnut approach for transformative change
✔️ Top-down versus bottom-up and participatory processes for defining indicators
